Latest news - our winter offer is now live 3 nights for the price of 2 provided you eat with us those 3 nights. Available 1st November 2025 to 21st December 2025 and 7th January 2026 to 8th March 2026. Click on the button at the bottom of the page to check availability. Please note we will be open most days in January this year - please check for specific closures.
Our opening hours for the festive period are as follows:
Monday 21st open 5pm for Pie night
Tuesday 22nd open 12pm to 6pm - drinks only
Christmas Eve - open all day from 12, food served 12 - 2.30 (dinner fully booked - please call for cancellations)
Christmas Day open 11am to 1.30 for deinks only - diners only from 2pm.
Boxing Day - open all day from 12, food served 12 - 2.30 and Pies and Fish and chips from 6pm until 8pm.
27th , 28th and 29th - pub open 12pm - 5pm for drinks and snacks
Tuesday 30th open from 12 all day for drinks only. Food (pies and fish and chips) from 6pm
New Years Eve - open all day from 12pm Lunch served 12 - 2.30, Dinner served 7pm for pre-booked diners only. Music open to all from 9pm.
New Years Day - open all day from 12, food served 12 - 2.30 and Pies and Fish and chips from 6pm until 8pm.
Please note on Sunday 3rd January, lunch will be served until 3.30pm and we will be closing at 5pm.

As many of you will know, The George Inn is not a big place and although we have our lovely outside courtyard, tables are limited and we would strongly recommend that you book a table if you would like to eat with us, either at lunchtime or in the evening. We always reserve tables for dinner for our resident guests and during the next few months we do have a lot of folks staying with us - hence booking is really quite important.
During food service times, we may not be able to accommodate folks just wanting a drink, nor can we accommodate groups of more than six or bus parties without a prior reservation. Thank you for your understanding!!
